Angela Akins Gracia became interested in sports when she was a teenager and began to take up golf. In the course of time Garcia picked up some expertise and took part in 8 high-school tournaments. Garcia, who was Mable Falls' high school coach at the time, guided the team in third place in the regional competition of 2003. They finished sixth. Garcia has been awarded over 17 medals at national competitions, and is a member to the Women's Texas Golf Association. Garcia went to Texas Christain University to study for some years after she graduated from high school. Then she transferred to the University of Texas. After arriving at Texas Christain University she was introduced to a competitive setting that made it easier for her to improve the skills of a golfer. Angela Akin Garcia was a great golfer but she never imagined pursuing a career in golf. Instead, she decided to pursue journalism instead. When she graduated in journalism, she got a job as reporter for Fox Sports Southwest reporter.
